Getting Here

By Car:

Approaching from the West (Manchester, Liverpool, Todmorden):

Proceed Eastwards along the A646, passing Mytholm church on the left, mounting a small hill with traffic lights at the top by the Fox and Goose, and a left turn signed to Heptonstall. The hill is quite steep. Follow the sign giving a fork to the left to Heptonstall village after about half a mile. This is the steepest part.

Approaching from the East (Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Mytholmroyd):

Proceed Westwards along the A646, through Hebden Bridge town centre, then climbing a small hill with traffic lights at the top. There is a sign indicating Heptonstall straight on via the turning circle. Carry straight on through the traffic lights, past Mytholm Church on the right, and enter the turning circle on the left. Turn right into the A646 and Approach From the West (see above).

Entering Heptonstall

Heptonstall is quite small enough to walk round, but first you need to park your car.

Where to park?

Just before you enter the village is a left turn, with a Parking notice. Follow this road round, keeping left, until you come to the Heptonstall Bowling and Social Club. Their car park is for public use from 8am to 8pm but during the Festival the committee have given permission for their car park to be used for the duration of the concerts. The old village is a conservation area and street parking is not allowed.

If you were not to turn left as above you would see a Parking notice signed to the right, down a narrow alley. This is a 24 hour car park, but is almost always over-subscribed.

Street parking is permitted on Longfield and Southfield among the new houses, but please park carefully as this is a bus route, and wardens are active.
